Overview
You have a document linked within an Advanced Links Web Part; however, you receive a "This link has been removed" error message when you access the link. You have confirmed that the document still exists, and the link appears valid.
Solution
Often this error message appears due to the referenced document having a Review/Expiry Date set in the past. This optional field allows those who upload the document to select a date that signifies when they'd like it reviewed by another individual or define a date when the document is no longer available.
You can use the steps below to review the affected document properties to confirm this is not the cause of your trouble.
- Navigate to the Settings Cog > Site Contents.
- Select the List or Library containing the affected document.
- Select the ellipses(3 dots) next to the affected document.
- Select the ellipses(3 dots) to open the More Options panel.
- Select Properties.
- Adjust the Review/Expiry Date by removing the value or setting the date in the future.
- Click Save.
Testing
After making the changes to your document's Review/Expiry Date, navigate back to the page containing the Advanced Links Web Part with the previously broken link. The link should now correctly open to the document, as expected.
