Unable to Drag and Drop Webparts in Bonzai Site Page

Overview

While editing your Bonzai pages, you notice that you can no longer drag and drop web parts in Modern browsers. You have verified the issue in Internet Explorer 11, Edge, and Chrome. You were able to drag and drop web parts in the past and want to regain this functionality.

 

Solution

Microsoft deprecated the drag and drop functionality within SharePoint Classic in recent releases. At this time, Microsoft has no plans for resolving this behavior. See Unable to drag and drop web parts onto classic pages in SharePoint Online for more information.

As a workaround, Microsoft recommends that you utilize Internet Explorer 11 in IE 10 document mode. We have provided the steps below for your convenience.

  1. Open the site in Internet Explorer 11 and press F12 to open the developer tools.

  2. Select the Emulation tab, and under Document mode, select 10.

Testing

After adjusting the Document Mode within IE 11, drag and drop functions should now work once again. While Document Mode 10 should be the default, you may need to repeat these steps when re-opening your browser.
