Moving a Page to its own Subsite

Overview

You have a page created within Bonzai that you now want to function as its own Subsite. You want to take the content from the existing page (not a subsite) and move it to a new subsite.

 

Solution

Bonzai has no built-in feature to convert pages into subsites automatically; however, you can use the existing page as the homepage of a new subsite using the steps below.

  1. Create your new Subsite.
  2. Once created, use the guidance within Moving Files From One Subsite or Library to Another to relocate your existing page to the newly created Subsite.
    1. Within the Site Content and Structure panel, locate your existing page within the "Pages" library of the original Subsite. In our example below, the Training Sites subsite.

    2. Similarly, when selecting the target destination, place this within the "Pages" library of the new Subsite. In our example below, the News & Events subsite.

  3. Once moved, open the page within the new Subsite.
  4. From the top ribbon, select Page > Make homepage.

  5. When prompted, click OK to save the change.

 

Testing

After completing the steps above, navigate to the direct link for your new Subsite and verify that the migrated page appears as the Home Page.
