Overview

You found that a large number of pages were unpublished by a "App@sharepoint" user. You have no user by that name. Your pages have no expiration date set. You also have no workflows set to expire the unpublished pages. 

Information

• The Bonzai Support Team and Bonzai generally do not perform any kind of unscheduled or unauthorized changes to production sites. Additionally, the listed account is not a Bonzai account
• Microsoft states that the "app@sharepoint" account is related to the SharePoint Applications (Auditing logs/Virus), and it is a system account that belongs to the SharePoint Sites Collection / SharePoint Farms infrastructure.
  • This account is created to run on all Site Collections/Personal sites to collect auditing information.
  • When the user applies changes for his own Site Collection, or enables features or activates the site Auditing logs, his own account does not have the write permissions on the SharePoint Site Collection/Farm and the "app@sharepoint" account is used instead to run and collect all the necessary information to be provided to the customer.
  • Microsoft has set up a few security accounts to run in all Farms in order for the customer to do certain tasks, obtain required information, and provide necessary user security. These accounts always track the Site Collection by searching for viruses that could be uploaded into SharePoint. Microsoft will not change these settings.
  • All Farms have the same configuration and this same system account, and all Site Collections will use this account if necessary.

Testing

Given the above information, the issue is not related to Bonzai Intranet. 

If the issue is unresolved and you wish to contact Bonzai Support, please send the following information:

• Audit log for the affected period
• Audit logs tailored specifically for that user for the preceding months/past year. 
  • If the activity is new, confirm if any specific apps were added to the Sharepoint site around the time the issue occurred
• A list of pages that were unpublished
  • Please note any specific Bonzai parts or features that are common across these pages
• A list of pages that were unaffected by the unpublish event
  • Please note any specific Bonzai parts or features that are common across these pages
  • Please note if there are any Bonzai parts or features missing from these pages that may have been enabled for affected unpublished pages
• Note any workflows common across the unpublished sites
