Configuring the Feedback Web Part

Overview

You want to add the Feedback Web Part to your Bonzai site, but are unfamiliar with the correct process. You have added a Feedback Web Part to your Bonzai site, and you want to update the default text to better match your company branding.​

 

Solution

Configuring the Feedback Web Part within SharePoint

  1. Navigate to the Page where the Feedback Web Part is to be configured. 
  2. Click on the Gear Icon > Edit Page.
  3. If the Feedback Web Part is not already on the page:
    1. Click on Add a Web Part in the Zone in which you would like it to appear.
    2. Select the Feedback Web Part from the Bonzai Web Parts Category, and Click Add.



  4. Locate the Feedback Web Part on the page. From the top right corner of the web part click on Edit Web Part.



  5. To configure the Feedback Web Part properties:

    Appearance:

    • Enter a Title for your Feedback Web Part.
    • Set your Chrome Type to "Default" to automatically display the web part Title.

    Layout:

    • The Zone and Zone Index fields determine where on the page the current web part appears. You can make changes to the web part's current position using these two fields.
    • Zones are the web part placeholders on the page to which you can add web parts.
    • The Zone Index specifies the order in which the current web part appears in relation to the other web parts within the same Zone.



  6. When finished updating the properties click on Apply if you wish to view your changes but continue to modify the properties.
  7. If you are finished making changes and wish to close the Properties dialogue, click Ok.
  8. Once complete, you may Save, Check In, or Publish the Page. 

 

Editing the Feedback Web Part's Default Text

If you want to edit the default text of the Web Part beyond the Title, this configuration is handled within your Brick account. 

  1. Navigate to your company BRICK page.

  2. Go to Configure (Cog icon).

  3. Scroll down to the Feedback section.

  4. Adjust the values as desired.
  5. Scroll down and click Save.

 

Testing

After making your changes, reload the Bonzai page and confirm that the feedback Web Part text has been updated, as expected.
